The time has come for justice to be served for Flavio Santisteban. In your hands lies the ability and burden of correcting the injustice that has been committed against him.
Flavio Santisteban was accused and convicted of 4 counts of vehicular homicide, after a tragic accident involving a gas tanker-truck, that he was driving, and a passenger vehicle carrying 4 occupants. He was neither driving drunk or on drugs.
Yet the first police report issued by the Florida Highway Patrol states that driving the passenger vehicle was Deborah Klein, and she DID test positive for Benzodiazepines. Months later this same police report was manipulated BY HAND and a new driver was named. Is this not suspicious? Not only were the drivers of the vehicle changed but so was the speed at which the vehicle was traveling.
Florida Highway Patrol was the first and only to investigate this accident. Yet they did not testify at trial. Why not? Why did the state have to privately hire an "expert" to determine what had happened that evening? Does anyone even know what happened that evening? How would any of the experts that came days, months, even years later know what happened when this investigation was done in the dark and the highway was quickly repaved?
3 witnesses alleging to have been at the scene that evening testified at trial. You have one saying she never went over the posted speed limit of the ramp as the truck was travelling behind her. Truck never hit her nor passed her. Yet she claims he was speeding. The second witness alleges she saw the accident from behind and that the truck and "abruptly" cut her off. Yet she chose to leave the scene and never stopped to call police that evening, not even when she was sitting in the comfort of her own home. She did "supposedly" call the next day! How credible is she really? Why would she not have called that same very night? The third witness (who was travelling on the Turnpike) initially told police he DID NOT SEE the impact but only the explosion and had no idea there was even a passenger vehicle involved in this accident. Yet at trial he claimed to have seen the tanker sliding with the car to a stop. What exactly did he see?
Why would Judge Streitfeld (the same judge presiding over the open civil cases that arose from this accident) have insisted on being the judge in the criminal case when all the while it had been another judge? He was asked to recuse himself, yet he didn't. How exactly can one not suspect that he was biased from the very beginning when he refuses the recusal and then at sentencing he makes religious comments, sentenced Mr. Santisteban to 36 years in prison to meet his religious symbolism of "double chai", and then these comments DO NOT APPEAR ON THE OFFICIAL TRIAL TRANSCRIPT? Luckily Judge Streitfeld's comments were captured on video where IT CANNOT be disputed that he said them.
Why does it remain unknown who paid for the 3 privately retained defense attorneys? Why will they not disclose this information to their "supposed" client? Were they in fact "defending" him or perhaps ensuring that the plan TO CONVICT was carried out?
There are far too many inconsistencies and suspicious occurrences in this case to be overlooked. An INNOCENT MAN has gone to prison due to these inconsistencies and suspicious occurrences. We implore that you make amends and free an innocent man from prison.

Ha llegado el momento para que se haga justicia por Flavio Santisteban. En sus manos esta la capacidad y la carga de corregir la injusticia que se ha cometido contra el.
Flavio Santisteban fue acusado y declarado culpable de cuatro cargos de homicidio vehicular, despues de un tragico accidente donde estaban implicados un camion de gasolina, que el conducia, y un vehiculo de pasajero donde iban 4 pasajeros. El no conducia ni borracho ni drogado.
Sin embargo, el primer informe policial publicado por Florida Highway Patrol dice que la que conducia el vehiculo de pasajeros era Deborah Klein, y ella SI dio POSITIVO a las benzodiacepinas. Meses mas tarde este mismo informe de la policia fue manipulado a mano y un nuevo CHOFER fue nombrado. ¿No es esto sospechoso? No solo fueron los conductores de los vehi¬culos cambiado, pero tambien cambiaron la velocidad a la que el vehiculo viajaba.
El Florida Highway Patrol fueron los primeros y unicos que investigaron este accidente. Sin embargo, no testificaron en el juicio. ¿Por que no? ¿Por que el Estado tiene que contratar un "experto" para determinar lo que habi¬a sucedido esa noche? ¿Hay alguien que siquiera sabe lo que paso esa noche? Como podria cualquiera de los expertos que fue dias, meses, incluso anos despues, saber lo que sucedio cuando esta investigacion se llevo a cabo en la oscuridad y la carretera fue pavimentada con rapidez? Cuando todos estos "expertos" llegaron lo unico que se encontraron fue una escena ya contaminada de marcas y huellas dejadas por otros vehiculos.
Tres testigos que alegan haber estado en la escena la noche del accidente declararon en el juicio. Una dice que nunca se fue por encima del limite de velocidad de la rampa y que el camion viajaba detras de ella todo el tiempo. El camion nunca la golpeo ni le paso. Sin embargo, ella afirma que el camion iba a exceso de velocidad.
El segundo testigo afirma que vio el accidente desde atras y que el camion "bruscamente" la corto. Sin embargo, opta por abandonar la escena y deja de llamar a la policia esa noche, ni siquiera decidio hacerlo cuando ella estaba sentada en la comodidad de su propia casa. Ella lo hizo "supuestamente" al dia siguiente! ¿Que tan creible es ella realmente? ¿Por que no le hubiese convenido llamar esa misma noche?
El tercer testigo (que viajaba por el Turnpike) inicialmente le dijo a la policia que no vio el impacto, pero solo la explosion y no tenia idea de que habia incluso un vehiculo de pasajeros involucrado en este accidente. Sin embargo, en el juicio afirma haber visto el camion cisterna deslizandose con el coche hasta que los dos pararon. ¿Que es exactamente lo que vio?
¿Por que el Juez Streitfeld (el mismo juez que preside sobre los casos civil abiertos que surgio de este accidente) habria insistido en que el mismo fuese el juez de la causa criminal, cuando el caso lo estaba llevando otra jueza? Se le pidio al Juez Streitfeld que se retirara del caso criminal, pero no lo hizo. ¿Como no se puede sospechar que estaba predispuesto desde el principio, cuando se niega retirarse del caso criminal y luego en la sentencia hace comentarios religiosos, condena al Sr. Santisteban a 36 anos de prision para cumplir con su simbolismo religioso de "doble chai", y luego estos comentarios no aparecen en la transcripcion del juicio OFICIAL? Afortunadamente los comentarios del Juez Streitfeld fueron capturados en video en el que no se puede negar que las dijo.
El "experto" de la fiscalia fue permitido declarar por este mismo Juez, a pesar de no haber entrado en prueba su investigacion. En el momento que los abogados defensores objecionan a que este declarara porque su investigacion no habia entrado como prueba, el juez dijo que a el esto no le importaba, y que el experto declara. Nada de esto que ocurrio, aparece en la transcripcion oficial del juicio. Por que? Otra prueba mas de que este caso fue manipulado para lograr el proposito de condenar a un inocente.
¿Por que se desconoce quien pago por los tres abogados defensores contratados privadamente? ¿Por que se niegan a revelar esta informacion a su "supuesto" cliente? Estaban realmente para "DEFENDER" al Sr. Santisteban o tal vez estaban para asegurar que se lograra el plan de CONDENARLO?
Hay demasiadas inconsistencias y cosos sospechosos en este caso que no se debe pasar por alto. Un hombre INOCENTE ha ido a la carcel debido a estas inconsistencias y cosas sospechosas. Imploramos que esto se repare y liberes a un hombre INOCENTE de la carcel.
