A Petition to Secretary Shawn Donovan of HUD: WHEREAS, Veterans are denied HUD disability housing because HUD currently counts VA disability compensation as income, WHEREAS, HUD does not count Veterans in any of its programs nationwide, WHEREAS, Veterans, dependents of Veterans, widows of Veterans and disabled children of Veterans are discriminated in HUD supported housing programs WHEREAS, Combat wounded veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan deserve and have earned disability housing, WHEREAS, HUD is the 3rd largest supplier of services to the Veterans community and they don't count the number of Veterans they serve, WHEREAS, HUD allows illegal aliens to apply for and be granted housing, WHEREAS, HUD has no way to determine how well they are preforming in their duties, WHEREAS, the United States has been at war in Afghanistan and Iraq during the term of Secretary Donovan, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that U.S Military Veterans call for Secretary Donovan of HUD to institute an immediate count of all Veterans serviced by HUD.
